These pages were first uploaded to this server on May 3, 2003. The site was first uploaded on April 16, 1999 to hol.gr, then moved on November 30, 1999 to designheaven.com. On May 2003, I got my own domain, but, due to various serious problems, the site was not updated for more than 3 years.
The "what's new" page was started on 2 January 2000. There is an
archive of the "What's New" from January 2000 to July 2003 (of historical importance - if any).
I must mention that I have been helped in improving these pages by the feedback from all of you. Thanks!
Only major changes are included.

Site back online, after a major hacking.
I have removed all forms and email accounts and took some strict measures to prevent this happening again. -

At last updated the
Terragen technology preview worlds page, so that it is working now and includes downloadable files. The original author of one of the included objects has consented and I managed to fix most of the path probems of TGD files. Also added, by request, the TGO of a tree file.
Sorry for uploading a half-finished page before, in my absent-mindedness.
Added the missing fractal 2 page.
Since blogs seem to be the fashion these days, I have had some complaints about the format of this page. The reader must scroll down to see the newer items.
So I have fixed this. I suppose this is a kind of blog...
I seem to be having a huge problem with hot-linkers (see hotlinking and Direct linking ). Writing to them does not seem to work. Replacing the linked image with another one ( switcheroo ) can give some laughs temporarily - I used to do this too - this is the image I used (very polite compared to some others). It didn't seem to solve the problem, as some didn't seem to mind using it (some people never learn), or maybe they didn't check their pages often. Forbidding remote linking, although it makes more problems for legitimate site visitors, seems the only way at present. -

The updated navigation is now on 11 of the 177 main pages (6.2% only, but it is getting easier ...). The good news is that it will work - almost in the same way - with Internet Explorer 6 (still used by a lot of people, and one of the most difficult browsers for web developpers to support, since it does not follow many CSS standards).
The bad news is that, since I bought an "indescrutible" and waterproof keyboard, I keep making typos, mostly missing letters, by not pressing the middle of the key.
The curious can view the page source and the CSS for the "IE hack".
Anyone using an even older browser should be able to use all the links, only they would look different (on the top of the page). Screenshots are welcome. -

According to
Juicy Studio Readability Test a visitor to my site needs 6.14 years of schooling to understand it. I don't know whether this is good or bad ...
Updated my ICRA label. -
5 May 2007
Trying to improve the navigation of the site (and get rid of tables), like the one on the
Home page. So far, only the
HTML page and the
learn HTML series have had this treatment, except for the present one. The others will follow (slowly ...)
Still not finished with my tax report ... -
1 May 2007
Finished with the navigation arrows, also with making the tags lower case (in the hope of moving to XHTML). Added the
adsense code. Fixed some more errors and dead links (by manually checking), including the
sitemap.
Now it's time to file my tax report ...

Updating seems endless!
Replacing those little hands (a remnant of my MS Frontpage days) for "previous" - "next" with text arrows - have reached N (starting from A to Z) and updating on the way. -
24 April 2007
Fixed some dead links and outdated information. Finished with the
software page and the
Email safety one.
Happened to find this McAffee SiteAdvisor rating. Made me feel good :) - 22 April 2007 Added a recent photo of myself (and the cat's) in the about page and a webcam view of Athens.

I can only say that I am back at last. Family and financial problems (just short of a complete catastrophe), plus losing all my data, after a hardware problem, prevented me from updating the site. I just managed to hold on to the domain and try to answer most of your messages.
Now that I am starting again, there will be changes. The changes will be mostly on the content - the appearance is a secondary consideration. I know some have found the style "old-fashioned" and recommended that I use PHP etc, but I have little knowledge of other than plain HTML/XHTML/CSS, so I would make many mistakes and be prone to hacking.
There are some new wallpapers already. And the software page is almost completely updated. But the links still need work :(
For the older "What's new", you will find the archive here. Don't count on all the links working though :-)
