Strange colors

One can get some very strange results with the " FONT COLOR " tag.

The proper way is to use the hex or RGB (red-green-blue) values, preceded by #, or use the name values that are accepted by all browsers (the first 18 below, except for brown and orange, if I remember right).

The use I have put below for the font color tags is not the proper way to do it. I did read that Netscape sometimes puts random colors in strange color names inserted in the font color tags, so I decided to experiment a little.

I first tried it on Internet Explorer 3.0, 4.01, 5.0, then on Netscape Navigator 4.07 and 4.51. The funny thing is that all those browsers gave the same color to each of the words below. Since I have no access to Opera, I don't know if it shows the same behavior. Amaya, though, is different altogether (more correct?). It shows the first 19 in the same colors, also gold, beige, chocolate, pink, violet and cyan. Then it shows "color" in white, "beautiful" in light green and "baby" in silver. It ignores all the rest.

The word shown is the one used in tags for font color. I am sure there are thousands of words that could also produce a colored font. This is very simple html, nothing fancy, but it is not valid html, because of the illegal values of the font color tags.

One can imagine the poor browsers trying to read all sorts of strange code, people (myself included) think of writing.

I am sure a psychologist would have fun, trying to analyze the word associations below :-)
